Despite what every event planner you talk with might say, finding cheap party supplies is easy as pie when you know where to look and what to look for. Not every party needs to have a ton of glitz and glamor to create an amazing atmosphere that all of the guests will enjoy; you can often create the same effects with less expensive decorations or even household items for a fraction of the cost. Start with the simple stuff that adds color to your event space. Bright table cloths make a world of difference, and often cost much less than $5. Get several rolls of paper streamers and run them from the walls into the center of the ceiling, around doorways, even up bannisters and over windows. A single big banner can be slightly more expensive, but is often well worth the cost. Then switch out some of the regular lights with colored light bulbs to add even more color and mood lighting to the event.

Just those few tweaks will totally transform any space for very little money. If you have funds left over use them to invest in detail work, like candles or paper plates that fit the theme of your event. Napkins offer you a great opportunity if you have the right eye for it. A few posters are often helpful, and even glitter on the floor and around the table displays will reflect the light in fun ways. All in all you could turn a basketball court into a banquet hall for less than $100 by choosing the right decorations and using a little fashion sense.
